Energy Technology Strategy to Future

Future energy demand and supply are subjected to numerous uncertainties, most of which are difficult to predict since there are many factors influencing such as energy prices, particularly oil prices, global economic growth rate, demographic changes, technological advances, government policies and consumer behavior. Meanwhile, two other concerns have re-emerged. The monetary crisis of 2008/2009 which some analysts link with volatile oil prices, reinforced the concern than high energy prices can cripple economic growth.  Headline announcing gas supply cuts to the Ukraine, oil tanker hijackings along the coast of Somalia, pipeline bombings in Nigeria and hurricanes destroying oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico showed that threat to energy security arise in many forms and unexpected places. In such a complex market, energy projection are primarily based on historical information then the primary objective of any energy-scenario analysis must be to analyze the main driving forces that would shape our energy future and the options ahead of us, rather than making accurate quantitative projections.

Equally important, we highlight early signs that such an energy technology revolution is under way. Investment in renewable energy and advanced energy technology are increasing substantially. A number of countries are considering implementing fuel cell.

After nuclear power plant disaster in Japan on March 11st 2011, scientists are considering to build alternatives power generation systems. The official death toll stood at 413, while 784 people were missing and 1,128 injured. In addition, police said between 200 and 300 bodies were found along the coast in Sendai, the biggest city in the area near the quake’s epicenter. Local media reports said at least 1,300 people may have been killed.

Fuel cells are environmentally friendly devices for energy conversion and power generation, and are one of the most promising candidates as a zero-emission power source. The specter of climate change is becoming so ominous that it is the substantial reduction of greenhouse gas emissions that is driving research and development into cleaner, more efficient energy technology and alternative energy source and carriers. In addition to the health and environmental concerns, a steady depletion of the world’s limited fossil fuel reserves calls for new energy technology for energy conversion and power generation, which is more energy efficient than the conventional heat engine with minimal or no pollutant emissions and also compatible with renewable energy sources or carries for sustainable development. Fuel cell have been identified as one of the most promising and potential energy technologies which meet all of these  requirements for energy security, economic growth and environmental  sustainability.

Welcome to My Home…

Welcome to my home, my name is Wandi Wahyudi. You will find huge list of information about study of Fuel Cell Energy and Metallurgy & Materials Engineering here. Articles here are written both in Indonesia  and English so that I hope it can help every one from Indonesia to explore many thing not only about fuel cell but also about metallurgy and materials. I hope this blog can help to improve the quality of education in worldwide and in Indonesia particularly.

Who I Am…

Dear

I am Wandi Wahyudi who was born in 1987. After i graduated from SD Negeri 02 Cipedak Elementary School in 2000, i continued my study to SLTP 131 Jakarta Junior High School until 2003 then i entered SMA 97 Jakarta Senior High School. In 2006 i graduated from senior high school an  immediately granted by scholarship from Putera Sampoerna Foundation to study in University of Indonesia. I took majoring Metallurgical and Material Engineering. Now I am pursuing my Master course in University of Science and Technology, campus of Korea Institute of Energy Research, South Korea. My research field is Solid Oxide Fuel Cell, particularly in Microtubular Solid Oxide Fuel Cell.

I enjoyed becoming The Assistant of Destructive Test Laboratory from 2009. I am quite familiar with tensile testing, wear testing using charpy method, impact testing, hardness testing also measuring microscope machine. I had dedicated my self in training above for both student and employee for PT. Pertamina (Persero) as Technical Assistant of Destructive Test. In 2010, I was working in PT. Score Energy Indonesia which is apart of Score Group plc. headquartered in UK.

Now I am also building my small business (hopefully it will be big company soon) in medical tools, Biometalindo (see: http://implant-indonesia.blogspot.com/ ) which now we provide implant and external fixator. It’s new product we developing in Indonesia.

I like some sports such volley ball, football, and badminton,,, also i like writing many ideas appear from my mind and i love my life. Here, i am trying to write down something useful and contribute it for my lovely friends who is meaningful and surviving for alive.
